Tree Clearing

Whenever large scale development takes place there nearly always has to be tree clearing involved, especially if the site has never been developed before. However, we don't just go in and cut all those trees down without the proper preparation; there has to be careful planning done first. Depending on what the development is for the area has to also be graded carefully so that any rain run-off does not wash the soil away and cause gullies and holes from erosion.

Soil disturbance needs to be kept to a minimum in some areas, especially around mangrove swamps as this is an area of acid sulphate soil that can release toxic substances if it is disturbed. The development may need to be done so that topsoil is not lost and so that some of the trees can be kept, if that is desirable.
